In the USA over 100,000 kids may have been molested, degraded, raped, and intimidated by the Church.

Church authorities often knew about the pedophiles within the clergy and active ignored it. In some cases reports were squashed and the perpetrators moved to another parish, where they could abuse a fresh batch of innocent children.

I guess some people take Jesus literally when he said “Let the children come to me.”
