Answers in Genesis are killers

The above Answers In Genesis advertisement should scare the hell out of you. Their message is a little muddled as I am unsure if they are suggesting the boy is an atheist (and therefore has no moral reason not to kill anyone), or he is a true believer who can murder atheists because they don’t matter to anyone – not even God.

Answers in Genesis would have you believe that people without a belief in God are not imbued with the morality of their deity. You know , the one who got his hands so bloodied in the Old Testament? In their minds it’s better to belief in any God than no God at all – at least you will have some morality. This of course is an absurd notion.

While I have no belief in any God or deity I have no desire to murder of kill anyone and I find the accusation offensive in the extreme. I have exactly the same morality now as I do when I considered myself a Christian. I dare say I have exactly the same morality (give or take) as people of almost any faith – or none at all. I certainly don’t get my morality from a baby killing God – remember the Passover?

To these idiots, even believing in Allah is better than having no magical fairy god mother to guide our actions. Of course, they will turn around and say that all other religions are the antichrist whose followers will be judged during the rapture. The arrogance is beyond belief.

For an organisation reporting itself to represent the forgiveness and total love of Jesus Christ I find their stance incredible. To suggest that atheists are immoral murderers, rapists, thieves, and liars with advertisements like these raises the temperature on the issue. They are setting the stage for a fundamentalist Christian to commit murder in the name of God.

Take this gentleman as an example: He used to be a “pro-lifer” and condemned abortionists as sub-human murderers of innocent babies. He now realises his actions pushed the more radical elements of society to kill people like Dr. George Tiller.

No doubt Answers in Genesis will then jump up and say “Oh no! That’s not what we meant.” when all the while it is exactly what they meant (just go watch the advertisement again). Naturally, then can ask for forgiveness and still be rewarded with eternal paradise, while the baby killing doctors have infinite suffering awaiting them. How’s that for divine justice?

The Bizarre Bible

Atheists are often told by believers to read the Bible and it will all become clear.  Trouble is, many of us have tried that and it doesn’t seem to have helped.  Take these verses for example: This does not sound like a great night out to me. “But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master…
