1.1 – Hello!

I have been wanting to start a podcast for a while now and have had many discussions with Nigel and Oliver towards this goal.  Recently I was listening to back episodes of the Non Prophets when to my surprise they mentioned “Jim from Tasmania”.  Well, I managed to get in contact with Jim only to discover he lived locally, was keenly interested in participating in a podcast, and all the audio equipment required.  This sealed the deal.

This is our first attempt and I am sure things will improve as we work out what the hell we are doing.  It was interesting being surrounded by microphones, mixers, compressors, laptops, and like minded people.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I am sure the others did too.

I should point out that religion will not be the only topic we discuss.  Any superstitions, insanity, crazy beliefs, woo, and voodoo are open for criticism.

The next episode is scheduled for 14th February 2010.

Thanks Andrew. That's at least six people I know who have heard the podcast. Pity 4 of those are ON to the podcast.

Good stuff. This site feels like the diamond in the rough. (or is it 'rock' never got that saying. Pretty sure that's the right usage though…) Very good, sadly unknown.

      Thanks very much :)

We literally did no preparation whatsoever and as such were flying by the seat of our pants. Still, it came out very well. I truly think it could turn into something we all can be proud of.

The next episode will be available soon. Stay tuned.

Mate of mine listened to it, thought it was quite good. Except we went off track a few times he said. That would be my fault, I do tend to get lost in what I am trying to say at times.

Mind you it was our first attempt so bah. Oh and he is adamant that we are all more likely to be Agnostic that Atheists. I argued the point with him, but I am not too sure he came around.

Damn labels people get given these days.

    Ollie :)

It's not hard to go off track when you don't even have a track :)

Perhaps we should discuss agnostic verses atheist on Wednesday?

Yeah sounds like a good plan.
Also I think I might build a list of things I hate. It may take the whole podcast up reading it out however.

Right now I am really hating parents who allow their children to drive over powered cars on their P plates without any real driver training or skill set.

        Ollie :)

Atheism 2.0

“Atheism 2.0” is a 20 minute TED presentation by Alain de Botton in which he proposes a new approach to evangelising atheism. The Bizarre Bible

Atheists are often told by believers to read the Bible and it will all become clear.  Trouble is, many of us have tried that and it doesn’t seem to have helped.  Take these verses for example: This does not sound like a great night out to me. “But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master…
