Leprechauns?

Matt Dillahunty posted a script on The Atheist Experience blog the other day which was just begging for someone to animate it. So here is my humble submission. I hope you enjoy it.
Arguments from Design
Aug 19
We are often told the universe is so complex it must have had a designer, yet the complexity of the designer is never questioned. If the designer has ANY attributes, properties, qualities, or behaviours then they should be accounted for on the basis of the same argument used to prove him. Failure to do so is merely replacing one mystery with another.
Just over a year ago I posted my first Youtube video entitled “My Conversion to Atheism”. To date it has received over 100,000 views and almost 8,000 comments. In all that time and with all those discussions what have we learnt?
There are so many points to cover it is impossible to fit them into a 10 minute slide show. I have had to be ruthless in culling the points down, so no where near everything I wanted to say is here. I expect these points will occur in the comments section
My “conversion” to atheism
Dec 22
Over the past year or so I have received numerous requests from people asking how I created the above video. It seems a very people like the simplicity of the presentation. This was deliberate as I wanted people to concentrate on the message, not on the fancy graphics or visual effects.
I created the presentation using Keynote from Apple (yeah – on a Mac). From there is was a simple matter of exporting it to a quicktime movie and adding an audio track. I was lucky enough for the track I had in mind to fall onto the presentation nicely. A few minor tweaks here and there and I found it fit very nicely indeed.
When I uploaded it to Youtube I did not expect much. It was my first ever video and my hopes were not high. The first few days saw a few visits, the it suddenly hit 1,000, then the next day it shot to 10,000 views. I remember thinking “that can’t be right”, but there it was. Then the discussions started and the views kept climbing. Now it sit just above 100,000 views, which is not bad.
I promised myself I would revisit the video and the arguments brought up in the discussions if it ever reached 100,000 view – so expect a new video addressing where we have gone in the past year in the next few weeks.
For those wishing to use the style to create their own videos, here is a Powerpoint export of the original (I will upload the Keynote version shortly). I have no idea how well Powerpoint interprets the animation instructs from Keynote, so use at your own risk.
Have a great holiday (for those who follow such customs).
